BRUNDAGE MOUNTAIN LAND EXCHANGE IS COMPLETE

RESORT TAKES POSSESSION OF BASE AREA ACREAGE

McCALL, ID – Brundage Mountain Resort is pleased to announce that it has completed a long-anticipated land exchange with the Payette National Forest.

Through this exchange, Brundage Mountain Resort has acquired 388 acres in and around the resort’s base area for the purpose of resort expansion and real estate development. View map

“With the completion of the land trade the cornerstone for future real estate and mountain development is in place. We are now focusing on the land use planning and hope to announce our development plans in the near future,” said resort owner, Judd DeBoer.

The exchange follows 20 years of environmental studies and negotiations with the USDA Forest Service. The lands traded to the Forest Service include approximately 159 acres at Squaw Meadows north of McCall and approximately 190 acres at Reed Ranch, located along the South Fork Salmon River, also in the Payette National Forest.

“We see this as a real win/win,” said DeBoer. “The Forest Service takes possession of valuable resource and habitat areas, and we take possession of areas that are a key asset to both our winter and summer operations.”

Brundage Mountain and the Payette National Forest officially exchanged deeds to the properties on August 3, 2006.

“Brundage Mountain Resort is now looking forward to working with Adams County and the nearby communities of New Meadows and McCall in bringing the resort to a new level,” added DeBoer.

Guests are not likely to see significant changes for the 2006/2007 winter season, as the summer construction window is nearing a close,” said Brundage President Rick Certano.

“But rest assured, the planning is underway and the ownership is excited about the opportunities.”

The resort will be involving their loyal customers in part of the planning.
”We will be doing some grassroots research by reaching out to our visitor base as the plans moves forward,” said Certano.

The ski and summer resort, which will celebrate its 45th anniversary this season, is wholly owned by Brown’s Industries, Inc. and Snowy Peaks, LLC, both controlled by the DeBoer family.
