Brundage Mountain Opens Saturday, December 4

12/02/10

BRUNDAGE MOUNTAIN OPENS SATURDAY

McCall, ID – Brundage Mountain Resort is pleased to announce that it will open for winter operations on Saturday, December 4.

This is the resort’s 50th Season, and its earliest opening in the last three years. Brundage Mountain opened on December 18 last year (2009), and on December 20 back in 2008.

The McCall, Idaho ski resort got 21 inches of fresh snow this week, (13” in the last 48 hours) giving mountain crews the snow they need to prep the slopes for Saturday’s opening.

Current Snow report

More snow is expected in the next 24 hours, with 6-12 additional inches predicted for the Brundage Mountain area.

“Mother Nature has been testing our patience recently,” said resort spokesperson, April Russell. “But she finally gave us the snow we need and we are confident we can offer quality slope conditions for opening day.”

The front side of the mountain will open Saturday with the Blue Bird quad, Easy Street triple, Bear Chair and Centennial Triple Chair in operation. 1,340 of the mountain’s 1,500 acres are expected to be open. Lifts will run 9:30 to 4:30 and early season slope conditions are expected, especially off-trail.

“The snow we’ve gotten prior to this week was extremely light and dry. That’s perfect for mid-season powder days, but created a challenge when it came to packing down a good base,” added Russell. “Now, we are definitely ready to roll and really excited to put our 100+ seasonal employees to work and get our 50th season underway.”

FREE SKIING this MONDAY – THURSDAY

In honor of Brundage Mountain’s 50th Season, they are offering free lift tickets Monday, December 6 through Thursday, December 9. Visitors can download a coupon from www.brundage.com/ski-free-coupon and present it at the Brundage Mountain ticket office in exchange for a free lift pass any time during that four-day period.

“Our loyal visitors are the reason we are here today,” said Russell. “We want to give back by welcoming them to our 50th season and encouraging some extra weekday traffic in the local area.”

More information on all Brundage Mountain programs and pricing is available at www.brundage.com.
