Brundage Mountain Open
Two Feet of Fresh Snow Brings Full-Mountain Opening
Brundage Mountain Resort is pleased to announce that it will open for winter operations on Friday, December 18th. Lifts will run 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, and all mountain services will be available.
“This last storm system brought us nearly two feet of snow in just two days,” said resort spokesperson April Russell. “We already had a good base, and with this quantity of fresh snow, we’ll be able to enjoy the entire mountain on opening day.”
Brundage plans to open all 1,500 acres of terrain and to operate all five chairlifts. Early season slope conditions are expected, especially off-trail.
Brundage Mountain’s base measures about 33 inches at the 6,000 foot level and about 40 inches at the 7,640 foot summit. The latest forecast shows several more inches could fall Wednesday and Wednesday night.

“We are really excited to be able to put our seasonal employees to work and our local economy is really in need of the boost that ski season brings,” added Russell.
This opening is slightly later than average, but still ahead of last year’s opening date. Brundage Mountain opened on December 20th in 2008. Despite the late opening, the ski area had its second most successful season in 2008-2009. Optimism is high about this season’s potential, as well.
“What’s most important to us is to be open for the Winter Holiday,” said Russell. “Children are out of school, families have time off to spend together and we’re thrilled they’ll be able to make new memories with us this holiday at Brundage Mountain.”
