Brundage Installs Two Chairlifts & Adds New Terrain

02/12/07

Project includes TWO new chairlifts AND brand new terrain

McCALL, ID Brundage Mountain Resort is excited to announce the construction of two new chairlifts scheduled for completion in time for the 2007/2008 ski season. It’s the largest on-mountain investment in Brundage Mountain’s proud 46 year history. The two new lifts will add nearly 160 acres of brand new terrain, and more than double the total uphill capacity.

CHAIRLIFT #1 – THE “BEAR CHAIR

The first chairlift to be completed will be the Bear Chair. Spanning 2,482 feet, with a vertical rise of 622 feet, the Bear Chair will load at the base of the existing Centennial Triple chairlift, and unload at the top of the knob now serviced by a Platter Tow. This fixed-grip triple chairlift will provide easy access to under-utilized terrain and ease congestion on the Easy Street run during busy times.

The Bear Chair is scheduled for completion in late November. The existing Platter lift will be removed, and may be re-used elsewhere on the mountain in the future.

CHAIRLIFT #2 – OPENING BRAND NEW TERRAIN –

The second new chairlift will open up nearly 160 acres of brand new terrain on the south side of Brundage Mountain. This new terrain includes four new, yet-to-be-named runs, which vary from rolling slopes to steep pitches, and provide access to a whole new wonderland of powdery glades.

This chairlift, also a fixed-grip triple chair, is scheduled for completion in mid-December. The lift will span 3175 feet, with a vertical rise of 816 feet. The bottom terminal will be installed at 6,600 feet elevation. The top terminal will be built at 7,400 feet on the summit ridge, just south of the terminal for the existing Centennial Triple Chairlift.
