New Shuttle Service Gives a Boost to McCall’s Premier Mountain Biking Trails
New trail construction is taking McCall, Idaho’s mountain biking scene to the next level. Now, one of the freshest, most flowy rides is easier to experience thanks to a new shuttle service operating five days a week.
Starting Thursday, July 18, Brundage Mountain is launching a new return shuttle service from what many are calling the “Best 12 Miles of Mountain Biking in McCall.” The 12-mile ride starts at the 7,640 foot summit of Brundage Mountain and descends 1,700 vertical feet on three trails before merging with the popular Bear Basin trail system.
The different sections of this trail have been built piece by piece over the past seven years. The Brundage Mountain Bike Park opened the Lakeview Vista trail in 2019 and added Rock Garden in 2021, then CIMBA (Central Idaho Mountain Bike Association) spearheaded a coordinated effort to complete B2BB in 2023. All three trails are rated intermediate.
“When B2BB opened last summer, this combination of trails instantly became a fan favorite,” says Brundage Mountain General Manager, Ken Rider. “Now that the shuttle service permit from the Payette National Forest is in place, mountain bikers can drop off the top of Brundage Mountain for an incredible, enjoyable ride without worrying about the logistics of doing their own car shuttles.”
The Brundage shuttles run Wednesdays through Sundays, with pickup at the West Face Parking lot at 9:30 am, 12 pm, and 3 pm. The cost is $20 per pickup or $40 for a pickup + lift ticket to the top of Brundage Mountain. Space is limited to four bikers per time slot and reservations are required a full 24 hours in advance. BOOK YOUR SHUTTLEOne and Done Package
In addition to the new shuttle service, Brundage Mountain is rolling out a new One and Done package for mountain bikers who want to experience lift-served mountain biking but not spend an entire day on the mountain.
The One and Done package offers a rental or demo bike plus a one time ride up the chairlift for $70, a $50 savings from the full-day rate.
New Mountain Biking Clinics + Private Lessons
The Brundage Sports School’s team of certified mountain bike instructors is offering two ways for aspiring mountain bikers to boost their skills this summer. Traditional two-hour lessons are offered daily at 11 am and 1 pm. Private groups can include up to five guests and package pricing is available.
The Mountain Sports School is also offering skill-building clinics for riders ages 7 – 12 and 13 and over. These new clinics have a different focus each session. Beginner clinics took place earlier this month, with intermediate sessions now accepting reservations for later this week:
July 19 (Friday) – Advanced Handling and Obstacle Negotiation
July 20 (Saturday) – Putting It All Together: Trail Riding Mastery
The clinics run from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and cost just $40 per day. Space is limited and reservations are required. Mountain Biking Lessons & Clinics
