Goose Lake Road Construction Update
07/19/17
PREDICTABLE DELAYS ON THURSDAYS
The crews working on Goose Lake Road are really digging in these days. The good news? The only day of the week our customers will face delays is on Thursdays, when pilot cars will escort you through the project.
The wait at either end is no longer than 30 minutes, and is quite often much less. (Trust us, we’ve been keeping track!).
Just to be clear, the pilot car program is running Mondays through Thursdays, but our regular operations are closed Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the rest of summer season, with the exception of Eclipse Day and Labor Day, so the only day you will face delays heading up to use the BlueBird or Smoky’s is THURSDAY.
EASY GOING FRIDAYS, SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, there is no work being done and no closures or delays. You will want to drive cautiously through the construction zone, as much of the old road bed is being ‘stripped’ and prepped for new asphalt, so the road surface is irregular. Nighttime work will only happen between 8 pm Sunday and 6 am Thursday.
We expect this schedule to be in effect through Labor Day. You can read more about the project here.
RE-SUPPLY AT THE BRUNDAGE GENERAL STORE
For those recreating up Goose Lake Road past the construction zone, our new General Store can save you some serious time. If you need ice, firewood, camp supplies, fishing equipment or bait (even worms) or camp food and portable adult beverages, you can find it all at our new General Store. Located at the Fall Line Shop in the main lodge, the Brundage General Store is open seven days a week from 9 am – 5 pm. Learn more.
