We are kicking off our summer season with a hometown food drive!

We’re inviting the public to join us for our grand opening event – and offering FREE chairlift rides. We’re asking visitors to donate one can of food per lift ride, or make a $1 donation. Proceeds benefit McCall’s own Heartland Hunger Resource Center. The local food pantries tell us they need canned fruit and canned proteins most of all (beans, chili, tuna, etc.)

We are also teaming up with Giant Bicycle for a giant raffle with all proceeds going to the HHRC (McCall Food Bank).

The raffle features everything from bike jerseys to locks, gloves, saddles and floor pumps. Each person who donates a can of food or $1 will receive a raffle ticket. Additional tickets may be purchased for $1 each. All items will be raffled off outside Smoky’s Bar & Grill at 2 pm (including the grand prize drawing for a giant swag bag & a 2013 summer season pass). Participants must be present to win.

The Blue Bird quad will be in operation from 10 am – 5 pm, with the last chair loading at 4:30 pm. The lift takes visitors to our 7,640 foot summit, which provides sweeping views of the Payette Lakes, Salmon River Mountains, Seven Devil’s and Oregon’s Eagle Cap mountains, among others. We also have more than 20 miles of hand-built single track bike trails descending from the summit. Smoky’s Bar & Grill will be open from 12 noon to 6 pm on opening day. You’ll definitely want to check out our new outdoor deck and special summer menu. Follow this link to learn more about our new summer restaurant service.

We are also proud to be hosting a Recreation Showcase during this year’s event. We’ll be giving away some Giant Bike gear and our local partners will be on hand with demos and coupons.
