Creamy Dreamy Powder Day

01/13/11

I almost feel bad writing this blog post. We’ve had ten inches of fresh snow in just over 24 hours, and the slopes were practically empty today as a few lucky souls dove in and devoured the fresh lines.

It was classic mid-week at Brundage. Sure, the powder right under the chairlift got tracked out fairly quickly, but most everyone knows those are not the best fall lines on the mountain.

Today, me and my pals (yes, there ARE friends on powder days, so long as they don’t slow you down) lapped some of the prime spots over and over again, finding fresh line after fresh line just begging to be skied.

Whether it was on the open slopes or in the trees, the soft creamy powder kept licking at our knees and etching the smiles deeper and deeper into our faces.

I’m not sure where the rest of our powder lovers were today. I feel a little sorry for those who missed out. But please don’t worry about me, I’m pretty sure I’ll get over it.
