Brundage Mountain Welcomes Janna Allen as Ski Patrol Director

09/17/19

Brundage Mountain is proud to welcome 49-year-old Janna Allen as the resort’s new Ski Patrol Director. Allen joined the Brundage team when she moved to McCall 2.5 years ago, working as an ambassador and patroller with both ski and mountain bike programs.

She brings 15 years of experience as a member of the professional ski patrol at Copper Mountain and has an extensive medical and patrol background. She is a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT), is OEC Certified with the National Ski Patrol, and is Level 2 Avalanche certified.

Outside her vast experience as a first responder, Allen’s background includes work in Human Resources, Marketing and Public Relations with Squaw Valley-Alpine Meadows Ski Corp, Crested Butte and Avid, a bike components company.

“We are very excited that Janna has decided to join the Brundage Team as the Ski Patrol Director,” said Brundage Mountain General Manager Ken Rider. “With her professional background and focus on building relationships, I am confident the Patrol program and our guests at Brundage are in very good hands.”

You may recall seeing Janna on the slopes last season with her avalanche-dog-in-training, Linus, or taking a lead role in Brundage Mountain’s recent SheJumps mentoring events. Allen lives just outside McCall with her husband, Mark, a retired Paramedic and Navy Veteran, three dogs, and a savage cat. Combined, they have three children in college. In addition to skiing, Janna is an accomplished snowboarder and telemark skier. She is also passionate about snowmobiling, sailing, mountain biking and fly fishing.

“In 1988, I showed up in Crested Butte wearing my 100% neon pink jacket and applied to my first position in the ski industry as a snowboard instructor. I never dreamed it would lead me to discover a career as a first responder, a ski industry professional, and now the Ski and Mountain Patrol Director at Brundage,” said Allen.  “I am inspired by the opportunity to serve the Brundage team, our local community, our guests and my fellow patrollers in this exciting new role!”
