Best Day Ever? You Be the Judge
News of Brundage Mountain’s plentiful powder had somehow spread, and long before the Blue Bird quad opened on this Blue Bird day, a sizable crowd (at least by Brundage standards) was waiting with baited breath. A mere 4″ had fallen overnight, but 7″ had fallen the day before. We had logged 18″ since Monday night, and everyone knows how sparse the mid-week crowds are here in our near-private paradise…
Keep in mind, these are “Brundage inches”…. measured in front of the world (via webcam) in the base area, rather than in some top-secret, undisclosed area where wind tends to deposit the snow and sweeten the statistics.
Instead, the top-secret spots are left for the locals and the lucky to chase down and devour. These are the places where the powder hides. The powder that will never be measured in inches, only in whoops, hollers and smiles.
Was it the best day of the season? Those who were here to enjoy it already know the answer. For everyone else, I’ll show you a few photos and let you decide.
