UPDATE: Bear Chair 'Powder Preview' Will Continue Sunday, December 2

11/30/18

Saturday Afternoon Update: Conditions are so good on the Bear Chair runs that Brundage Mountain will be extending its Bear Chair Powder Preview to include Sunday, December 2.

Brundage Mountain has seen 14-15 inches of fresh snow this week, but doesn’t have quite enough to groom the front side slopes and open for the season. The resort does have enough snow to open the Bear Chair lift to those confident enough to ski or ride on ungroomed slopes in early season conditions.

There isn’t quite enough snow to get our heavy grooming machines on the slopes, but we can get some skilled skiers and riders on that fresh snow to enjoy the powder and start packing it down in anticipation of the next set of storms.

There is no charge for the Bear Chair Powder Preview, but no one will be allowed on the lift without a valid season pass or lift ticket. Bear Chair riders must have their 2018/19 season pass on display or pick up a free lift ticket at the Guest Services office, which opens at 9 am on Saturday. Easy Street riders must also have a valid pass or lift ticket, even though the lift access is free.

Easy Street and Easy Rider FREE This Weekend

Brundage Mountain is back open  for FREE riding on both the Easy Street Triple Chair and the Easy Rider Conveyor lift. Both lifts are open 10 am – 3 pm Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2. The Easy Street and Tater Tot runs will be groomed both days and a few terrain park features will be set up to ride in the Easy Street Zone.

Uphill Travel Allowed on Designated Front Side Runs

The frontside is open to expert skiers and riders for uphill travel, but those looking to earn their turns are asked to sign in at the Uphill Travel kiosk, stay on designated routes and leave their dogs at home or in the parking lot.

There is working across the mountain, so hikers need to check in and stay on the designated routes.

Brundage Mountain will open additional lifts and terrain as soon as there’s enough snow to properly pack and groom the slopes. Snow totals and updates are available at www.brundage.com/snow.
