A Special Notice for Gift Card Holders

A Special Notice for Gift Card Holders

Special Notice for Gift Card Holders:

(2/28/2023)

Brundage Mountain Resort is in the process of switching to a new point-of-sale system. The new system offers a dramatically improved online sales experience and includes updated technology (like RFID) to improve the on-site experience, as well.

Unfortunately, the new system and the old system are not compatible, which is impacting our ability to seamlessly use existing gift cards.

What Does That Mean for Gift Card Holders?

  1. The existing system will be in use on site through the end of the 2022-23 Winter Season. We highly encourage current gift card holders to use the balance of their gift card funds by the end of the season. They can be used for on-mountain/on-site purchases at Brundage Mountain as well as on site at the Brundage Downtown Shop and McCall’s Activity Barn. (The Fall Line Shop is offering a great sale on Demo Gear right now, gift cards can also be used on day tickets, retail, rentals, lessons, food and beverage, etc).
  2. You will not be able to use your Gift Card balance to purchase a 2023-24 Season Pass online because Brundage Mountain has already moved to a new ecommerce solution for season pass processing and the two systems are not compatible.
  3. After we make the full transition to the new POS system, gift cards that aren’t expired according to Idaho state statue will still be valid but guests may encounter delays while our Guest Services team works to track down the validity and amount available on old gift card stock. According to Idaho state statute, gift card balances are good for five years past the purchase date:

CHAPTER 5

UNCLAIMED PROPERTY LAW

14-514.  GIFT CERTIFICATES AND CREDIT MEMOS. (1) A gift certificate without an expiration date prominently displayed on its face or a credit memo issued in the ordinary course of an issuer’s business which remains unclaimed by the owner for more than five (5) years after becoming payable or distributable is presumed abandoned.

(2)  In the case of a gift certificate without an expiration date prominently displayed on its face, the amount presumed abandoned is the price paid by the purchaser for the gift certificate. In the case of a credit memo, the amount presumed abandoned is the amount credited to the recipient of the memo.

We appreciate your patience as we work through the details on this process. We feel confident that the improvements to the overall guest purchasing experience will outweigh the inconvenience of this gift card issue.
