A Fitting End to Fifty Seasons of SNOW
You know that feeling of satisfaction you get when you finish the final page of an amazing book?
That’s how we’re feeling today as we close the 50th chapter of our Brundage Mountain story.
We’ve had an incredible season packed with snowfall, powder days, fun events and great memories.
Even better, we set a record for our latest closing day ever today. We can’t think of a better way to cap off our milestone 50th season. Except maybe with some great spring skiing, and a closing day snowstorm to remind us what the 2010/2011 season was all about!Check out the sunshine and slush we enjoyed yesterday.
And all the good times in the terrain park:
This man was cruising the park with his granddaughter.
Others were throwing down their final tricks of the season.
We even had some first-time skiers show up for the special occasion. Two-year-old Bennett spent his first-ever day on skis on May 14th!
Spirits were high and people seemed excited to help us make history.
We saw lots of people in t-shirt and shorts.
Many of our visitors capitalized on Saturday’s blue skies and snow-capped views to mark the occasion with great photos.
Dozens more joined us for a commemorative group photo to help us mark the occasion for all time.
Today’s weather was not quite as cheery, but our hard-core skiers and riders still turned out to make Brundage Mountain history.
Those who stuck around into the afternoon hours were even treated to some fresh snow!
That will be one of my most lasting memories of this season. I can’t count the number of times the forecast called for rain, but all we saw were big white flakes falling from the sky – even in the base area.
We created this video to highlight some of our favorite 2010/2011 memories – from our special Light Up the Night holiday party to Pond Skimming in the Spring and all the faceshots, cat ski trips and powder pleasure in between.
We want to thank everyone who joined us this season to celebrate 50 years on the Best Snow in Idaho. Enjoy your summer and remember: it’s never too soon to start dreaming next year’s powder dreams!
