McCall's Activity Barn Opens for Snow Tubing Friday
People who love to have fun in the outdoors will have two more exciting options starting Friday, December 15. McCall’s Activity Barn is ready to open for the season. Two 800-foot tubing lanes will open Friday, and visitors can also book horse-drawn sleigh rides at the Activity Barn.
Snow Tubing Open Every Day of Winter Break
The Activity Barn will be open every day from December 15 through January 7 for the winter holiday. The Moon Rider conveyor lift runs from 10 am – 6 pm daily, with a few exceptions. The Activity Barn closes at 4 pm on Christmas Eve and opens at noon on Christmas Day and New Years Day. Two-hour tubing sessions are $18 per person on peak days and $15 on non-peak days. The nordic/fat biking trail will open as soon as there is enough snow on the valley floor to groom it. Go to www.activitybarn.com for more details.
Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides
In addition to snow tubing, the Activity Barn will be offering horse-drawn sleigh rides starting Friday.
Riders of all ages can climb aboard a 15-person sleigh for an old-fashioned winter experience. The ride itself lasts a little over an hour with a warm-up and snack stop in a cozy outfitter’s tent at the mid-way point. Post-card perfect scenery includes views of Brundage, No Business and Jug Handle Mountains.
All ages are welcome. Sleigh rides will be available Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with daily tours available during holiday periods.
The sleigh rides cost $30 for adults and $12 for children ages 3-17. Little ones 2 and under are free. The hosts expect trips to fill up fast for Winter Break, so reservations are recommended.
E-mail [email protected], call 208-315-3080 or go to www.brundage.com/trip-planner/sleigh-rides/ to book. These sleigh rides are offered in partnership with Yahoo Corrals, long-time horse outfitters in the McCall area.
