Avalanche Science Guides Level 2

Join Avalanche Science at Brundage Mountain for the ASG2 Avalanche Course, a comprehensive training experience that combines fieldwork, classroom learning, and online study. This course exceeds AAA REC1 guidelines and is ideal for strong backcountry riders ready to advance their avalanche knowledge and safety skills.
Course Overview
  • 3 Field Days – Backcountry touring at Brundage, Sargeants, and Goose Lake area in McCall
  • 4 Hours Interactive Classroom – Hands-on instruction and group discussion
  • 8 Hours Online Coursework – Video and multimedia modules completed before field sessions
Prerequisites
  • Confident skiing or riding in deep powder
  • Familiar with ski touring or splitboarding
  • Physically able to tour 3 consecutive days, totaling up to 6,000–8,000 vertical feet
