11" of Pure Satisfaction
It could be the fact that we haven’t had a dump like this for over a month…
Or because we weren’t sure how dry the fresh snow was going to be…
OR, it could be because we only had 8 inches when the lifts started running this morning…
Whatever the reason, today’s 11 inch powder bounty was SO INCREDIBLY SATISFYING!
It’s been a while since our lift and mountain crews have had to work this hard to knock all the snow off the lifts, clear it from the parking lot and manicure the ramps.
It’s been even LONGER since I’ve seen a crowd like this assembled for ‘first chair’ on a Wednesday.
The moment our skis hit the slopes, we KNEW we were in for a treat.
The snow was NOT the ‘heavy’ kind as you can see in these photos, it was FLYING!
And as it continued to fall throughout the day, temperatures were actually getting LOWER. We ended up with 11 inches.
Snow that won’t quit falling all day long can make photography a bit of a challenge.
So while none of these shots are Powder Magazine quality, I hope you can see that we did have magazine-quality powder!
I admit, it sort of looks like the same shot over and over and over…
Which is pretty much true. We found the same spectacular, deep, hero turns over and over and over…
In the open glades…
Or even an unassuming run off the beginner chair…
Brundage Mountain REALLY put out today.
And the level of satisfaction was DEEP.
