Terrain Park Trifecta
Our freestyle triad is now complete, with the introduction of our third terrain park, this one off the Bear Chair.
We opened our newest terrain concept, “The Big Easy” a couple weeks ago. Now, our mid-level park is enjoying its maiden weekend on Bear.
Combined with our larger, ever-evolving park on Rodeo, this three-park combination offers a logical progression for first-time freestylers, sick tricksters, and everyone in between.
And it’s exactly those skiers and riders ‘in between’ that will benefit most from the newest park on Bear. It’s in a new location this year. Last year the park was on Jammer (right under the Bear Chair lift).
This year, it’s on Bear (the next run to the left). The pitch and width of that run allows for a more gradual approach and natural speed control on the landings.
This family is using “Smart Style” by reading all signage before entering the park.
At the top, you’ll find two-side by side jumps that flow into a second jump.
These are designed to offer a gentle ‘air’ experience for little guys and newbies.
But as you can see, the same feature can also be a great warm up for the bigger guys.
These features are also a great way to work out the kinks in your technique.
They offer the option of choosing smaller air, or getting some decent amplitude…
But the mellower slope and landings allow aspiring jibbers to work their way from smaller to bigger moves with confidence and control.
Farther down the slope, visitors will discover two rail features.
Once again, these features are built to offer a little bit of thrill…
But at lower speeds than the rails in the Rodeo park.
Whether practicing the approach…
Learning solid technique and getting comfortable are keys to safety.
There is also a great sense of camaraderie as fellow riders encourage each other to reach the next level…
and practice, practice, practice.
So be sure to cruise by our newest park the next time you’re here. Our assortment of three parks may not be ‘one size fits all’, but we hope they now offer something for everyone.
