Top FIVE MLK Weekend Trip Tips

01/12/17

#1. Get Stoked About the Conditions

powder-naughty-girl-mostly-sunny-075006After five straight days of snow, the sun is poking through and the weekend forecast is looking PRIME. We’re expecting sunshine or partly sunny skies all through the weekend, which means the views will be spectacular. Temperatures are expected to stay low overnight but comfortable during the daytime, which means slopes will stay soft & groomerific while YOU stay comfortable.

For a look at conditions across the mountain, we invite you to scroll down and check out the photo gallery at the end of this post.

#2. Sample Idaho Beer & Ride the Latest Gear

beergear-sliderOne benefit to visiting Brundage Mountain during MLK Weekend is our 6th Annual Beer & Gear Festival. We’ll be pouring beer and offering free demos from 11 am to 5 pm Saturday and 11 am to 4 pm Sunday.

#3. Try A New Winter Adventure

snowtubing at the Activity BarnThe coolest thing about a three-day weekend is obviously the third day! With an extra day for winter adventures, it’s the perfect time to try something new. Families may want to check out the new amenities at the Activity Barn Snow Tubing facility in McCall, which include a heated event tent and new food & beverage options. Snow Tubing @ The Activity Barn

snowmobile-views-101018For a uniquely Idaho experience, you can venture into the backcountry on one of our Guided Snowmobile Adventures. We still have a few sleds available for this weekend, and with a break between storms, it’s the perfect time to enjoy the amazing views on your way to cool destinations like Burgdorf Hotsprings.

#4. DINE IN STYLE in the Lower Lot OR the new Upper Lot Pub

lowerlottailgateIt’s as much a part of Brundage Mountain as the snow itself: the classic tailgate party in the ‘Lower Lot’. Get ready to flaunt those grill skills and lay out a spread for friends and family because the weather will be great for tailgating this weekend.

(We love the lower-lot vibe, but we do ask that our tailgating pros be sure to respect others my not taking up more than one parking space for your set-up. Thanks in advance!)

upperlotIf you’re looking for a lower-maintenance way to eat and drink some fabulous food (and you’re 21 or over) you may want to head to the new ‘Upper Lot’ Pub on the third floor of the lodge.

The views are unbeatable and the new menu is already a huge hit. The Far East Chicken Salad is delicious and you can’t go wrong with any of the toasted sandos. Learn more.

#5. Monday is Family Fun Day

holiday-wednesday-011001You’ve probably heard of #SundayFunday for the party crowd, but for families on the path to skiing glory, it’s MONDAY that will pack the most fun (and best value) this weekend. Our Family Fun Pack isn’t available this Saturday & Sunday, but it IS available on Monday and is even $50 less than its normal price.

What’s the Family Fun Pack? Families can get rental gear & Bear Chair lift tickets for a family of four for just $149 during the month of January. Larger families can add extra kids for just $30 each. Learn more.

And here’s a tip in case Monday doesn’t work out for you: The $149 Family Fun Pack IS available on Saturday and Sunday of the first weekend of Winter Carnival.
