Action-Packed!

02/26/12

We had an action-packed weekend here at Brundage Mountain with races, freestyle events, and most importantly, FRESH POWDER.

The snow didn’t make much of a show in our snow box, but it made a BIG impact on the mountain.

Some aggressive winds showed up Saturday along with fresh snow. That means we were on a mission to find out where all the dry, fluffy powder was piling up.

For some, the mission was futile.

Just the same, cold temperatures kept the tracked slopes soft and manageable.

Others searched harder for the rewards of drifting snow. Here are a few photos of some of the ambitious folks who hit the jackpot:

But these beautiful people weren’t the only winners on the mountain this weekend. We hosted the IMD Women’s Super G on Alpine and Sidewinder all weekend long.

These girls are FAST.

Also impressive were some of the competitors in our Rookie Race. They’re just learning to run the gates, but they showed real potential on Griz.

Meanwhile, the action on Rodeo was less about speed and all about STYLE. The 2-day ISSA Slopestyle competition attracted more than 30 freestylers.

It was a challenge to keep up with all the action on the slopes this weekend. Special thanks to LMP Photography for sharing some of their photos. You can check more of them out by clicking this link. And don’t forget, they’d be happy to tag along and take some photos of your next action-packed adventure.
