Brundage Expands Mountain Bike Shuttle Service to Include Two Premier Backcountry Rides

05/28/26

Brundage Mountain Resort is bringing back its popular mountain bike shuttle service for summer 2026 and expanding it with a new route that gives riders access to even more of the McCall area’s iconic backcountry singletrack.

The enhanced shuttle program now serves two of the region’s premier mountain biking experiences: the beloved Brundage to Bear Basin Trail (FS 419) and, new this summer, the Goose Creek Trail (FS 353) corridor above Last Chance Campground.

Brundage to Bear Basin (B2BB) Trail

The classic B2BB route remains a favorite among riders looking for a long, scenic descent through the mountains above McCall.

The approximately 12-mile ride begins with a scenic chairlift ride aboard the Bluebird Express to the summit of Brundage Mountain before connecting Rock Garden and Lakeview Vista to the Brundage to Bear Basin Trail system.

Because the multi-directional trail can be ridden from either end, many riders choose the summit start for its 2,555 feet of descending terrain and flowing “mostly downhill” experience through alpine forest and high-country scenery.

New this summer, Brundage is also offering shuttle pickups from the lower end of the Goose Creek Trail near Last Chance Campground.

Expert mountain bikers can get 2,994 vertical feet by starting at the Brundage Summit, taking Hidden Valley or Elk Trail to Grouse, then following the signs to Brundage Reservoir and the trailhead. This option is approximately 11 miles long and creates a new opportunity for riders to build bigger backcountry loops from the Brundage Bike Park and explore more remote terrain without the logistical hassle of vehicle shuttling.

“We wanted to make it easier for riders to experience more of the incredible trail network in the Payette National Forest surrounding Brundage,” said Ken Rider, general manager of Brundage Mountain Resort. “Adding the Goose Creek pickup option gives riders more flexibility, more adventure and access to another outstanding backcountry trail experience.”

Shuttle rides are $20 per person, and reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance. Those riding the shuttle can purchase a single ride (with bike) lift ticket for an additional $20 to access the Brundage Mountain summit via chairlift. Capacity is limited so reservations are recommended further in advance for peak periods like the July 4th holiday.

Backcountry MTB Shuttle Info

In addition to the shuttle service, Brundage Mountain offers more than 30 miles of lift-served mountain biking and hiking trails within the Brundage Bike Park boundaries, along with bike rentals, lessons, scenic chairlift rides, free concerts and mountainside dining throughout the summer season.
