These grass roots gatherings eventually led to small club “songwriters in the round” performances. SIS was approached in late 2016 by Idaho Songwriters Association to present concert performances at high profile listening venues around Boise Idaho. These concerts support women and their craft as they network\, collaborate and celebrate each other through music \nSisters in Songwriting Featured Artists\nSophie Griffin\nSophie is a Boise-raised songwriter studying music at Belmont University in Nashville\, Tennessee. Her dream is to make a career as a lifelong songwriter and performer. She first gained experience as a performer in Boise\, playing shows for the Idaho Songwriters Association\, and then expanding her repertoire to include many types of venues and all kinds of audiences. She hopes to continue to grow as a musician and performer throughout her years of study as she brings people joy through music. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nEmily Tipton \nEmily Tipton is a singer-songwriter from Boise\, ID. She started performing in Boise in 2013 with her full band\, Rob Hill (bassist) and Dave John (drummer). The trio has a groovy vintage rock & soul vibe playing Emily’s original songs\, inspired by love\, life\, family\, and occasionally whiskey\, as well as the band’s favorite covers ranging from the 30’s – today. She co-hosts Boise’s longest running open mic with Rebecca Scott at Pengilly’s Saloon and hosts the open mic for S.I.S. She is also a music teacher for vocal and guitar at Old Boise Music Studio and is a board member of S.I.S. (Sisters in Songwriting). Emily also performs and tours with Swillbilly\, a fun lovin’ country-ish band with Brook Faulk\, and The Pearl Snaps\, her newest collaboration with Kelly Lynae and Justin Ness. \n  \nPeggy Jordan\nSinger-songwriter and bass player\, Peggy Jordan\, has played her brand of jazz\, swing and blues at festivals\, bars\, concerts\, and coffeehouses from Boston to Santa Barbara\, to Tokyo to Idaho\, in her multi-decade career.

SUMMARY:Greenwood's Ski Haus Demo Day
DESCRIPTION:Greenwood’s Ski Haus Demo Day!! \nThey will be on the mountain 9:00 am – 3:00 pm for demos. \nIt’s been more than five decades since Bob Greenwood opened “Bob’s Ski Haus” on State Street\, and we’ve seen a lot since then: The graduated length method (GLM) of skiing. The first all-plastic buckle boots from Lange. Spademan bindings. Jean-Claude Killy. Shaped skis\, skate skis\, twin-tips\, and an amazing breadth of fashion that’s fun to think about — from wool knickers to the most form-fitting of ski pants.  Greenwood’s Ski Haus is a Boise institution.  If your a skier you’ve been to their shop on Bogus Basin Rd.  Brundage is happy to have them back on the hill. \nCome check out skis from: \nHead \nDPS \nNordica \nBlizzard \nArmada \nLine \n

SUMMARY:Edge of Totality – Eclipse Viewing Party
DESCRIPTION:We are sold out of the $20 packages.  But you can still join us on the summit.  Regular priced single ride lift tickets will be on sale in the retail shop.   \n  \nDo you want to experience the Great American Solar Eclipse without fighting the throng of people surging toward totality? \nWe’ve got a great option for you. While the Brundage Mountain summit is a few miles outside the totality area\, it offers a unique (and less-crowded) view of this once-in-a-lifetime event. \nIf the weather on eclipse day is good\, mountaintop locations such as the top of Brundage Mountain will offer a unique and memorable perspective on this amazing event. Brundage Mountain is not in the totality zone\, but it is in the 99% maximum eclipse zone. At its peak\, 99.6% of the sun will be covered by the moon at our location. \nThe moon begins to cross in front of the sun at 10:11 am. The eclipse will peak here between 11:27 and 11:28 am. The moon and sun will separate completely at 12:49 pm. \n\n\nThe Brundage Experience\n \nThe Schedule\n\n\n\n \nOur $20 package includes a scenic chairlift ride\, eclipse viewing glasses\, a commemorative poster\, free tent camping on Easy Street the night of Sunday\, August 20 and priority loading on the Blue Bird Quad. \nOur pre-purchase period ended at noon on Sunday\, but we will have a few dozen ‘packages’ available for purchase on-site\, on a first-come\, first-served basis. \n  \n\n \n  \n\n \nBlueBird Quad Chairlift runs from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm \nWe strongly suggest that you arrive as close to 8:30 am as possible in order to make sure you’re on the summit in time for the eclipse. The last rides down from the top are at 2:00 pm sharp. There is no seating on the summit\, so if you’d like to relax a bit\, we recommend bringing a camp chair to take up with you. \nTicket office/Fall Line Shop opens 8:00 am – 2:00 pm \nLunch and After Party in Smoky’s Bar & Grill starts at 12:30.  We invite all our party goers to lunch and an afternoon of Space Trivia at 1:30 pm.  Get your teams together to test your knowledge of the universe with a robust game of trivia hosted by Michael Hayes of McCall Trivia. \n\n\n\n\nPlease note: Brundage Season Pass holders can use their free scenic chairlift ride perk the day of the eclipse\, but priority loading will ONLY be given to those who purchase the $20 package. Scenic chairlift rides will also be available for individual purchase\, but those ticket holders will not be eligible for priority loading. No discount coupons will be accepted on August 21. \nWhat is priority loading? We will have two lines at the BlueBird Quad the day of the eclipse. Those who purchased the $20 eclipse package will be allowed to load the next available chair. Those without priority loading status will have to wait for all priority loaders to board the chair before boarding. If you don’t want to chance missing the summit view\, we highly recommend the $20 Eclipse Package (plus\, you’ll get eclipse glasses\, a commemorative poster\, and FREE camping on Easy Street the night before). \nGood news! There will be no road construction on Highway 55 or Goose Lake Road on Monday\, August 21. Goose Lake Road is a construction zone so please plan to drive carefully on your way up. There will be no mountain biking allowed at Brundage the day of the eclipse. \nPlease help us help you: If you are in a wheelchair or will need special help loading the lift\, please e-mail us at info@brundage.com. We would love to chat with you ahead of the big event to make sure we can help you navigate our natural terrain and know what to expect from the loading and unloading process. \nCamping rules:\nNO FIRES. No Open Flames. No smoking. The Payette National Forest is under Stage 1 fire restrictions. Learn more. \nPlease practice ‘bear-smart camping‘ during your stay to avoid attracting wildlife to the campground. \nWe strongly advise you leave your pets at home if you are camping overnight. We have a pet area where pets on leashes are allowed but pets are not allowed on the grass (which is where the campsites are located). \n  \n \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Live Music - World's Finest
DESCRIPTION:World’s Finest is an eclectic five piece band with a songwriting style rooted in Americana\, the band banks on their ability to transcend genres of all kinds. String-centric and bluegrass-inspired compositions seamlessly transition into 3-Dimensional Psytrance\, Funk\, and Dub soundscapes\, leaving their audience with a full circle experience of emotion and dance. Their appreciation for punk and ska can be found peppered throughout their shows and albums\, made evident by up-tempo\, high-energy offerings\, reminiscent of such classic acts as NOFX and Operation Ivy. Never happy to settle\, Chris\, Dan\, Sean\, Evan\, and Mike continue to push through boundaries and challenge themselves\, while hoping to inspire their listeners to expect the most out of what a band in the modern age can be capable of conjuring up. \nworldsfinestmusic.com/
