DESCRIPTION:Giant Slalom – U8\, U10\, U12\, U14\nThe Chris Bodily Memorial 4-Way Races is a long-time tradition in McCall that celebrates Coach Chris Bodily’s love of skiing\, racing and competition shared with many alongside his “mischievous passion\, infectious joy\, wry wit\, educated humility” and “gentle spirit.” \nThere are 4 ways athletes will celebrate the sport – Slalom\, Giant Slalom\, Gelande Jump and XC Sprint.  Participating in all 4 events takes courage\, grit\, and humility – the perfect mix of character that deserves to be sprinkled on a churro! Evoking the authentic energy of the greatest front men and women\, his original music\, high energy\, show-band staging\, and creative\, theatrical events have played to packed and sold-out clubs and theaters throughout the United States. While we wait to ride the upper mountain bike trails\, our park crew came out of hibernation and built a terrain park on the top of Main Street.  This is a golden opportunity to get creative and have some fun! Who will show up in a Joe Dirt costume to ride the park? \nA terrain park in June\, you say?  Very interesting…We thought so too!  \nNitty gritty details:\n\nSkiing and Snowboarding is happening at Brundage Mountain on Saturday\, June 18th and Sunday\, June 19th.\nLoad the Blue Bird Express on foot at the bottom and put your skis and boards on up top.\nThe park is located at the very top of the Main Street run\, just north of the top terminal of the Blue Bird Express.\nThere is not continuous snow to the bottom\, so skiers and riders will be allowed to download on the Blue Bird lift.\n2022-2023 Winter Season pass or 2022 Summer Season pass can ride the lift at no additional costs.\nLift tickets are $20 for ages 13+ and $15 for ages 7-12. Children 6 and under are free but need a lift ticket.\n\n

SUMMARY:Youth Level 1 Avalanche Class
DESCRIPTION:This class will provide students with the knowledge needed to explore snow covered hills safely. This course follows the American Avalanche Association- Level 1 NSP Avalanche course. Students will learn how to recognize avalanche terrain\, understand factors that result in avalanches and how to mitigate risk while traveling in avalanche terrain. The course will also discuss how to use the avalanche triangle (Snow\, Weather\, Terrain) to assess the stability of the snowpack. Snow pit analysis and organized rescue will also be critical components of the course.  \n\n\nThis course is for Expert Skiers/Snowboarders. Skiers and snowboarders must have all required equipment including skis and skins\, or snowboard with split board with skins. Must be comfortable with off–piste skiing on ungroomed terrain in variable snow (deep powder\, wind packed\, etc.) and all weather conditions. Field work will be done in expert terrain.  \nParticipants will receive a Level 1 Avalanche Certification meeting AAA curriculum standards through the NSP.  \n\n\n\nClass Schedule:\n \nDecember 7 – On-line 6:30 to 9:00 PM\nDecember 9 – On-line 6:30 to 9:00 PM\nDecember 14 – On-line 6:30 to 9:00 PM\nDecember 16 – On-line 6:30 to 9:00 PM\nDecember 17 – Little Ski Hill 5:00 to 8:00 PM – Dress warm to walk around in snow. DESCRIPTION:Take your yoga practice to new heights with yoga on the mountain\, a FREE outdoor yoga experience. \nThe exceptional\, certified instructors from Shanti Yoga will guide you through a cycle of poses to boost your strength\, posture\, relaxation\, and inspiration for your next adventure. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Please bring your own yoga mat\, there is plenty of room to spread out in the grassy base area. \nEVERY WEDNESDAY from June 30 through Sept. 1 – 11 am – Noon \nParticipants must sign a waiver (18 and under will need a parent/guardian to sign a waiver).
