Serving up more sunny skies and spring shredding today!
We do apologize for our lack of fresh soft serve here at the Brundage Mountain diner, but today we have the next best thing. Daily special: blue bird skies, spring like afternoon temps, mellow to non-existent lift lines, and bountiful groomers. For those soft serve enthusiast powder hounds out there, head on over to your favorite weather forecast, because you may just like what you see on the speculative horizon. Something I have to keep reminding myself as I dream of more early season powder slashes, is to be grateful for how many pow turns we’ve had already and how great our snowpack is up here. Come see for yourself if you haven’t been up yet!
Mountain ops has been opening new terrain this week and we saw some additions Tuesday, as well as a BIG, dare I say huge, addition yesterday. That’s right, we added some more of those diamond shapes yesterday, this time in a coveted north facing sun protected zone *hint hint*. Do your research on open terrain by clicking this grooming report for details.
Chairlifts scheduled today are Bluebird, Centennial, Bear, and Easy Street, all from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. As with yesterday, that means most of the frontside terrain is accessible, offering something for all abilities, but no backside today. Lakeview is still a nogo for today, as we are expanding grooming operations on our backside terrain. That one is TBD for reopening but we are hoping for this weekend. 5 out of 6 lifts on December 6? Not bad, not bad at all!
North was hands down my favorite groomer yesterday. We have groomed terrain accessible from all our open lifts right now, with varying ability levels of terrain as options. Alpine, Main Street, Engen, Temptation, 45th Parallel, and Red Fox, just to name a few. Whether you’re laying into deep carves or just learning to link turns, there’s a groomer for you today. Make sure to check out our grooming report (link above) for the most up-to-date info on what our grooming crew was up to overnight/dark and early this morning.
Spring park laps, in December! We have two terrain parks for you today and the afternoons have been great for park laps. Bear Terrain Park has medium features, while Easy Street Park has more beginner features. I personally got some laps on Easy yesterday, and had a great time. Even if you’re not a beginner it’s a fun park, and you can lap it while watching your beginner friends learn to ride on the bunny hill. We’re expecting more spring-like snow conditions and rays of sunshine in those parks today.
The Mountain Adventure Center (MAC) is your go-to for lift tickets, tune shop, retail, lattes, daycare, and ski/snowboard lessons for every level (adaptive services as well).
The sun is forecasted to be out in its full splendor again today before its possible leave of absence in the next couple days, so get up here and soak it up while you can!
Thanks for reading, and see you on the hill,
– AL Brundy
