SUMMARY:4th of July Music Fest
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy FREE live music in the Brundage base area this Fourth of July! Spread out on our grassy alpine amphitheater or grab a spot on the plaza or Smoky’s deck to enjoy three festive\, fun bands to celebrate the 4th. Food and drinks will be available on the plaza and in Smoky’s. \nMusic Line Up\n11:00 am – 12:30 pm – Pan Handles\n1:00 – 2:30 pm – High Pine Whiskey Yell\n3:00 – 5:00 pm – Sol Seed \nPan Handles\nBorne from local songwriter collective Thistledown\, this quartet has emerged as a musical force layering acoustic sounds into patterns that often rearrange themselves several times within a single track. Gypsy\, folk\, blues\, and bluegrass are among the genres you’ll hear from the mouths and instruments of these seasoned musicians. Neal\, Heather and Ty all bring original compositions to the stage and work up unique interpretations of some of their favorite folk\, rock\, and blues artists. \n  \n  \nHigh Whiskey Pine Yell\nBorn out of a desperate need for craft beer\, deep powder\, plastic jug moonshine\, fast-moving rivers\, and a deep-seated fear that artificial intelligence will ruin hard-driving bluegrass… High Pine Whiskey Yell came together as a band in 2018. This four-piece group of modern-day rounders focuses on telling true stories. \nBringing experience from a multitude of projects\, this Idaho string band is sure to win you over with its take on bluegrass and the Americana tradition. Although newly formed\, its members have played in numerous bands and projects throughout the years incorporating those experiences into Idaho storytelling that is High Pine Whiskey Yell. \nScotty Tyler’s fiddling playing is aggressive enough to land an Idaho brown trout\, yet soothing enough pacify a wookie in a festival hammock. Tyler Schmidt’s wielding of the mandolin is nothing short of broadsword-esque and captures the true essence of the mandolin’s spirit animal (jaguar-rattlesnake). Brian Carrington guitar flat-picking could woo even the most elusive of sasquatches out of the woods. And Chad Lamer’s upright bass playing… well let’s just say they sometimes give him water\, beer\, and let him ride inside the truck. \n  \n  \nSol Seed\nMusic created with the intention of spreading unconditional love\, universal acceptance\, and an urge to reach across social\, spiritual\, and cultural boundaries. \nBorn of the woods\, rivers and waterfalls of Oregon\, reggae-fusion group Sol Seed sports diverse vocal styles\, an eclectic sonic playbook and ethereal world music influences. Employing a broad spectrum of musical tastes\, Sol Seed flips between genre influences of rock\, soul and hip-hop over a solid reggae backbone. Committing themselves to tending a fellowship between performer and listener\, the audience becomes a part of the music\, creating a unique and unforgettable live experience\, centered in the heart space.

SUMMARY:LIVE MUSIC - Dodgy Mountain Men
DESCRIPTION:Dodgy Mountain Men sling a home-brewed Montana stomp grass that goes down smooth but packs a bite\, mixing the rhythms of bluegrass\, the soul of the blues and the energy of rock ‘n’ roll with a other musical traditions to create a unique electro-acoustic experience. The group’s genre-bending experimentation and \npassion for American roots traditions weave together to emphasize their lyrical storytelling\, creating a musical frontier rife with empty mason jars\, outlaws\, gypsy women and cold Montana storms. Add three distinct front men\, a penchant for sonic exploration and live performances that build to a fever pitch\, and you’ve got a concoction that will make moonshiners proud and compel dancers to wear out the soles of their shoes.

SUMMARY:2nd Annual Idaho State Championship GELANDE QUAFF
DESCRIPTION:THROW the beer. CATCH the beer. DRINK the beer.\n  \nBrundage Mountain and Payette Brewing are teaming up to host the Idaho State Championship of ‘the most athletic drinking game in the world.’ GELANDE QUAFFING! \nEight teams of four people can compete. (Register the day of the event 9:30-12:00 in Guest Services). First come\, first served. $40 per team\, includes first mug and all beer. \nHere’s how it works… Two teams will play at the same time\, side by side. Each game lasts for one minute. The first and most important rule\, if you are watching or playing and you berate any of the judges\, you will be asked to leave or disqualified. \nScoring: Once the round starts\, teams must slide their mug down the table with mugs filled to the appropriate fill line. Two players start out at each end of the table. Player one slides one mug down to his or her teammate who must catch the beer\, drink the beer and the TAP THAT MUG ON THE TABLE before the next mug can be launched to player two. If the next mug is thrown before the previous mug has been tapped on the table\, that mug slide does not count. Drop your mug? No points for you. Catch the mug by the glass itself? Your team gets one point. Grab the mug by the handle? Congratulations – you get two points. Get creative when catching those mugs\, judges might praise you with up to 5 style points!\nIf you break your mug\, you must pay $5 to get another one. \nJudges will add up points at the end of each round to let you know who won. (Single elimination)\nIn the case of a tie…drumroll please…we go into a QUAFF OFF! The two teams who tied will have ONE throw to impress the crowd. Judges are invalid at this point. Your goal is to get the crowd hyped and cheering loudly for you – they decide who moves on to the next round. If your team gets sent to a Quaff Off\, you and your teammates will have one minute to delegate amongst yourselves to create a game plan. Our advice? Come prepared. Bring props. Once that minute is up\, send over your team captain. The winner of rock\, paper\, scissors will decide who goes first. There are no limitations to this round as long as you are being safe! Your entire team can participate in this one throw. You can throw one mug\, two mugs\, even a pitcher! Get creative! You only have one shot! \nAfter both teams have gone\, the crowd cheers and the judges pick a winner based on the crowd’s liveliness. Again\, no berating the judges. \nAnd the game continues until we have a winner. One last note\, during the championship round\, games move from one minute to one minute and thirty seconds and style points are key. \nHere’s a look at what to expect:

SUMMARY:LIVE MUSIC - High Pine Whiskey Yell
DESCRIPTION:Live Music\nAs part of the St. Patty’s celebration we have live music from High Pine Whiskey Yell Band 2-5 pm in the Upper Lot. \nBorn out of a desperate need for craft beer\, deep powder\, plastic jug moonshine\, fast-moving rivers\, and a deep-seated fear that artificial intelligence will ruin hard-driving bluegrass… High Pine Whiskey Yell came together as a band in 2018.
