SUMMARY:Youth Level 1 Avalanche Class
DESCRIPTION:This class will provide students with the knowledge needed to explore snow covered hills safely. This course follows the American Avalanche Association- Level 1 NSP Avalanche course. Students will learn how to recognize avalanche terrain\, understand factors that result in avalanches and how to mitigate risk while traveling in avalanche terrain. The course will also discuss how to use the avalanche triangle (Snow\, Weather\, Terrain) to assess the stability of the snowpack. Snow pit analysis and organized rescue will also be critical components of the course.  \n\n\nThis course is for Expert Skiers/Snowboarders. Skiers and snowboarders must have all required equipment including skis and skins\, or snowboard with split board with skins. Must be comfortable with off–piste skiing on ungroomed terrain in variable snow (deep powder\, wind packed\, etc.) and all weather conditions. Field work will be done in expert terrain.  \nParticipants will receive a Level 1 Avalanche Certification meeting AAA curriculum standards through the NSP.  \n\n\n\nClass Schedule:\n \nDecember 7 – On-line 6:30 to 9:00 PM\nDecember 9 – On-line 6:30 to 9:00 PM\nDecember 14 – On-line 6:30 to 9:00 PM\nDecember 16 – On-line 6:30 to 9:00 PM\nDecember 17 – Little Ski Hill 5:00 to 8:00 PM – Dress warm to walk around in snow. DESCRIPTION:Join us Saturday 3/19 for the first ever Bruno’s Pot o’ Gold! This will be an open format freestyle competition\, taking place from 10 am to 2 pm in the Jammer and Bear parks. We will have 2 photographers and a videographer present\, shooting tricks throughout the event. The best photos/tricks will be posted on Instagram the week of 3/21\, and we will allow voting. The skier/rider in each of the top voted photos will win a prize from Bruno’s Pot o’ Gold. Smaller prizes will be handed/tossed out to riders throughout the day. Come make some new freestyle friends and work on your park progression! \nInstructions for Participants:\n1. REGISTER by sending pic of yourself via Instagram direct message to @brundagemtn. Photo must show your helmet\, goggles\, and jacket so you can be identified later for prizes. For groms without an IG account\, a parent or friend may send the photo with the skier/rider’s name included. \n2. LOOK FOR THE WINDSAILS marking the feature currently being photographed. \n3. The team with a combination of speed and low spillage bring homes the Beer Relay title. \n\nSign up your 4 person team in Guest Services on the morning of 4/2/2022 @ 9am\n\nonly 8 teams available so get here early to sign up.\nRoot Beer will be substituted for any teams that have participants younger than 21.\n\n\nMeet at the top of Alpine at 1:30pm in costume and prepared to have some fun.\n\nThere will be a DJ spinning jams from 12pm to 3pm on the plaza. The classic Costume Contest and Dance-Off will take place place on the plaza at 2pm. Prizes are awarded for the best youth costume\, best adult costume and best group costume. \n
