SUMMARY:TGIF Concert: High Pine Whiskey Yell
DESCRIPTION:Brundage Mountain’s grassy\, green base-area amphitheater provides plenty of room to spread out while you enjoy the fresh air and sounds of summer! \nFriday concerts are FREE\, no tickets are necessary. (Please note: No outside food or beverage is allowed in the concert venue.) \nOn the Stage: High Pine Whiskey Yell\nHigh Pine Whiskey Yell takes the stage at 6 pm. \nHigh Pine Whiskey Yell\nBorn out of a desperate need for craft beer\, deep powder\, plastic jug moonshine\, fast-moving rivers\, and a deep-seated fear that artificial intelligence will ruin hard-driving bluegrass… High Pine Whiskey Yell came together as a band in 2018 and released its first EP (The Orchard Sessions) in 2019.  This four-piece group of modern-day rounders focuses on telling true stories about robots taking your job\, banksters robbing from the poor\, the trials of gold panning in Idaho\, skiing/riding deep powder\, UFOs\, and a few other traditional bluegrass subjects (such as murder\, drinking\, and dogs). \nFood & Refreshments:\nAn outdoor bar and snack shack will be conveniently located on the plaza. For those looking for a full meal\, Smoky’s Bar & Grill will offer extended hours with full menu offerings. Order it ‘to go’ and take it to your spot on the lawn. Seating on the Smoky’s deck is available on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nTGIF Smoky’s Extended hours 11:30 AM – 8 PM \nTGIF Snack Shack/Bar hours 6 PM – 9 PM \n  \n**NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR BEVERAGE ALLOWED IN THE CONCERT VENUE** \n

DESCRIPTION:Brundage Mountain’s grassy\, green base-area amphitheater provides plenty of room to spread out while you enjoy the fresh air and sounds of summer! Friday concerts are FREE\, no tickets are necessary. (Please note: No outside food or beverage is allowed in the concert venue.) \nOn the Stage: Hillfolk Noir\nHillfolk Noir takes the stage at 6pm \n \n\nGrab a drink\, sit down\, take a breath\, have a listen for a moment\, an hour\, a night\, because here they come with their\nearnest musical narratives of the back alleys\, the open range\, the hollow\, the front porch\, the lives behind the love\, want\, fear and fracture of a world that despite all adversity remains\, within their songs\, hopeful\, thoughtful\, jubilant.\nThe band deems their sound Junkerdash – part folk\, part bluegrass\, part string-band blues\, part punk\, and most certainly wholly kickass. Bourbon and the Western Swing are a recommended pairing with Hillfolk’s Junkerdash\, we’re told\, which seems spot-on. Fronted by multi-instrumentalist\, singer and songwriter\, Travis\nWard\, this trio of neo-traditionalists includes Alison Ward on musical saw\, washboard\, banjo\, and purely gorgeous vocals\, as well as Mike Waite keeping the heartbeat\, rhythm and flow alive on double bass. John Doe (X\, the Knitters)\, patron saint of the American Dream\, once said\, “If John Steinbeck owned a speakeasy\, Hillfolk Noir\nwould be the house band.” Amen. \n\n  \nFood & Refreshments:\nAn outdoor bar and snack shack will be conveniently located on the plaza. SUMMARY:10th Annual McCall Trailrunning Classic

The Marathon will start at 4PM and will be 3 distinct loops climbing to Brundage’s top and using almost every inch of Brundage’s spectacular trail network. The Half marathon will start at 5pm and will be 1 big loop (first loop of Marathon)\, the 10K will start at 5:30pm and will be 1 smaller loop (2nd loop of Marathon). All races will start and finish at the Lower Parking Lot at Brundage Mountain Resort. No capacity limit on entrants.  Because there is a reasonable likelihood of finishing in the dark (marathoners only) you will need a headlamp for the final leg of the race\, and we reserve the right to add additional mandatory gear such as a jacket if the weather is threatening. These are technical and rough mountain races combining brutal off trail travel and buttery smooth singletrack trails in the tradition of the McCall racing scene. \n  \nCOVID: We expect COVID-19 to still be an issue in July\, so be ready to pull off all the stops to make the race go. We reserve the right to ask all runners and their guests to do temp checks\, facial coverings any time you are near others (aid stations\, start\, finish\, when running near others)\, etc. We will communicate our race rules as the race draws nearer and we can assess the current virus situation. \n  \nRegister for the July 4th Cat Track 5K/10K and get 15% off your McCall Trailrunning Classic entry. \n  \nQOM/KOM: The best combined time (both Female and Male) for the July 4th Cat Track 10K and the July 17th McCall Trailrunning Classic Marathon will take home a nice cash prize of $200 each and will earn the titles “Queen of the Mountain” and “King of the Mountain.” \n  \nJoin us at Brundage Mountain to continue the McClassic tradition

SUMMARY:TGIF Concert: Voice of Reason
DESCRIPTION:Brundage Mountain’s grassy\, green base-area amphitheater provides plenty of room to spread out while you enjoy the fresh air and sounds of summer! \nFriday concerts are FREE\, no tickets are necessary. (Please note: No outside food or beverage is allowed in the concert venue.) \nOn the Stage: Voice of Reason\nVoice of Reason takes the stage at 6 pm. \nIn 1988 the song writer and arranger\, “Ras Hoon”\, started to study and write Reggae music influenced by Peter Tosh\,Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer. Andrew Furnee played bass guitar in his first Reggae band\, “Active Culture”\, and has been a collaborator since then. Both became members in a Reggae Band called 8750 in Telluride Colorado. After 8750’s first tour of the West from Cali to B.C and back down the East slope of the Rockies to Arizona\, Ras Hoon went on Pilgrimage to Jamaica by invite from Earl “Chinna” Smith to record at “High Times Records” in Kingston. The decision was made on the plane over to go to Westmoreland and learn the Culture from Rastafari Elders and get to know the people in the bush.\n\nWhile in Jamaica he formed a trio with some local musicians\,”Ras Paul” and “Ras Thirteen” calling that project “The Core”. Hoony lingered to gain more experience while backing many singers from the region; his two week trip ended up lasting seven months! Cateye was one of the singers who really made an impression and his style comes through some of the tunes. Upon returning to Colorado 8750 continued to tour up to two hundred dates a year for several years and worked as supporting act for all of the great Reggae names\, I’m not kidding. Bunny Wailer would be\,in my mind\,the biggest honor; then there is Black Uhuru\,The Wailers Band(four times)\, James Brown(the biggest thrill)\, Lucky Dube\, Steel Pulse\,Toots and the Maytals (five times)\,Culture\, Clinton Fearon\, and the Melodians. The list goes on. \nAfter migrating to Boise in 2005 Hoony and Furnee founded VOR and began performing in the area at first as a three piece\, but eventually growing into a fierce\, full bodied entity that had Heralding Horns\, the growl and chirp of Hammond Organ\, the Clavinet croaking like frogs in the jungle\, feeding the Drum and the Bass\, and taunting a rough and rude guitar. That sound…earthy\, deliberate\, original Roots Rock Reggae. Like the old school\, Real REGgae for REGular people\, like Toots first said. \n  \nFood & Refreshments:\nAn outdoor bar and snack shack will be conveniently located on the plaza. For those looking for a full meal\, Smoky’s Bar & Grill will offer extended hours with full menu offerings. Order it ‘to go’ and take it to your spot on the lawn.
