AWeSOMe! is invested in protecting the health of all our participants and their families, our volunteers, staff, and our greater community. AWeSOMe! will be following Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Guidelines regarding COVID-19. In addition:
Because adaptive ski and snowboard lessons frequently involve close contact between the instructors and students, we will be asking that all staff, volunteers, and participants be fully vaccinated prior to participation.
The AWeSOMe! hut is a lovely, cozy place to gather, but until the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, we will minimize use of the hut and ask that friends and family accompanying students not remain in the hut during lessons. We are asking EVERYONE who enters the hut to be fully vaccinated and requiring everyone to be properly masked at all times while in the AWeSOMe! hut.
Adaptive Wilderness Sports of McCall (AWeSOMe!) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower people of all abilities through high quality outdoor experiences.
AWeSOMe! works in conjunction with Brundage Mountain Resort to offer ski and snowboard lessons for people with disabilities. The program provides specialized adaptive equipment and teaching techniques to accommodate people with disabilities.
AWeSOMe! is a PSIA member ski & ride school. All of our instructors are volunteers, and many are PSIA certified in adaptive instruction. Adaptive techniques include 3-track, 4-track, mono-ski, bi-ski, snowboarding, guiding skiers/boarders with visual impairments, and teaching people with cognitive and developmental disabilities. Lessons are conducted on a personalized, one-on-one basis with specially trained instructors. All lessons are by appointment and are subject to availability of instructors.
