What do I need to bring?
Dress your child in warm layers (long underwear, sweater, and water resistant outer wear), with a warm hat or helmet that covers the ears, neck gator (no scarves), easy to put on gloves or mittens, goggles or eye protection that fits well, a dry change of clothes, and a bag to put everything in. We will provide a cubby to store their gear while they are skiing, but please mark your child’s belongings with his/her name to avoid lost items.
What time do we check in?
Check in for our Bears Ski Programs is between 9:15-9:45 am, please arrive with time to fit rentals if requested. Bears Ski Programs and Cub Cave Day Care check in at the Kid’s Center front desk.
What does the rental gear include?
We offer rental boots, skis and helmets for children in our Bears Program. If your children have private lessons, you will need to get rentals and lift tickets at the main lodge.
Do I need to stay with my child until the lesson starts?
We ask that parents say “Goodbye” after getting checked in and setting up gear in a cubby. Our staff and instructors will get your child ready to go outdoors, as this is a good time for children to get acquainted with their ski instructors and fellow class mates. If you would like to watch your child during lesson time, please do so out of site of your child.
Should I choose a full day or half day lesson?
We suggest that our younger children (3 and under) might do best in the half day lessons, especially if they tend to nap in the afternoon. We can combine a half day, morning lesson with a half day of play (including nap time) in our Cub Cave Day Care.
Do you offer half day afternoon lessons?
We offer half day morning lessons or full day lessons, but we do not offer half day afternoon lessons in our Bears Ski Program. Our Bears will be learning skills in the morning and working on them in the afternoon, thus, coming in at half day does not provide a complete lesson for your child. The Ski School at Brundage Mountain does offer several private lesson options for kids 2 1/2 – 5 and youth 6 – 12.
