It’s easy to get revved up and re-energized when you hear about the arrival of a foot of fresh snow. But this week, we’re finding that even a few inches of the fresh stuff has the power to transform our slopes, and perhaps more importantly, our outlook. Officially, we got one inch in the snowboxes […]More
Here at Brundage Mountain, we’re thrilled to be able to host the USCSA Collegiate Western Regionals for the second year in a row. Both this season and last, we were approached to host the event after the original site ran into trouble with its snow base. Sixteen women’s teams and 18 men’s teams from across […]More

We expected it to be a great weekend here at Brundage Mountain, but judging by the fun factor of Day One, we are already getting more than we bargained for. The weather is gorgeous and slope conditions are super fun. But it’s the ATTITUDE of our skiers and riders that’s really blowing our minds. In case […]More
We’re heading into one of our most popular weekends of the year, which makes this the perfect time for an update on our slope conditions. The short version: They are REALLY good. The coveted good spring-like conditions, not the overly-sticky ‘oh-no!‘ kind of spring conditions. If you’re looking for a more in-depth assessment, we invite […]More
The 3-5 inches of fresh snow we got yesterday are still paying dividends today. Coverage is great from top to bottom, and groomed runs range from a carvable sugar-snow to a creamy-but-not-sticky hero consistency. We’ve even got snow still hanging in the trees this afternoon. It’s photographic proof of something the locals and our regular […]More
Brundage Mountain’s reliable snow base is attracting big events and extra business to the McCall area.
For the second year in a row, Brundage has picked up a four-day regional collegiate race after the original destinations were forced to cancel because of dwindling snow packs. This year’s USCSA Western Region Championship will bring approximately 140 collegiate racers and their support teams to the McCall area between Wednesday, February 18 and Saturday, February 21.
We had quite a wild ride this morning after Mother Nature threw a bit of a temper tantrum last night. Wild winds and a soaking rainstorm knocked out power on the mountain and dampened our hopes first thing this morning. We started the day on backup power and with the BlueBird Quad on ‘wind hold’. […]More
During the second half of January, we heard many descriptive words regarding our groomed surfaces. Including, but not limited to: corn, hardpack, ice, chicken heads, gravel on a sidewalk, and ‘somewhere between chunky peanut butter and toothpaste’. While we have made the best of what mother nature gave us, we are thankful to see the […]More
We’ve been talking about Winter’s Return all week and that’s because it’s just getting sweeter and sweeter as the days go on. We got another 2-3 inches of fresh snow overnight, bringing our total since Sunday to 15 inches. Slopes are getting smoother with each new inch, and while I wouldn’t call the slopes ‘bottomless’ […]More
