What’s this with seniors now buy passes until they quit or die. It has always been 75. Other areas are free. Shame on whoever came up with this cheap idea. Pass this on to management.

  2. Laura says

So the Bogus passes go on sale the 17th, I want to buy my Brundage pass 14/15 this weekend for the Bogus discount price is this possible?

    • April says

      Hi Laura –
It’s a bit complicated, but the answer is yes. You can purchase your 14/15 Brundage pass at the Bogus discount price. It sounds like you were planning to purchase the spring add-on as well. We can print your pass for this spring, as long as you show us your current 13/14 Bogus pass. That will work for you for this weekend through closing day. Once you purchase your 14/15 Bogus pass, you can show us your proof of purchase (or the 14/15 Bogus Pass itself), then we’ll be authorized to ship you your 14/15 Brundage Pass next fall. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Why such a big increase Y/Y in the family pass price? We paid $899 and now if we wait until November it will be $1299.? Normally it is $899/$999, now it is $999/$1299 depending on whether we purchase it now or wait until the fall to purchase it?

    • April says

      Hi Chelsey –

Thank you for taking the time to write in with your question about our family passes.

To give you some background, this is the first time in more than 10 years that we have raised the price of the family pass. Most resorts raise pass prices every couple of years, so our families have enjoyed a price freeze of sorts, despite the fact that our operating costs have increased significantly in the past decade.

In addition to rising fuel, electricity and equipment costs, we’ve made numerous improvements to our facilities in the past 10 years. In that time, we’ve added two new chairlifts, opened 160 acres of new terrain, built the mid-mountain Bears Den, and expanded and remodeled our lodge to add additional seating, a full-service restaurant, espresso bar and updates to the women’s bathroom. The feedback we’ve had from our guests tells us most of them find value in these additions.

As for the specifics of the price increases, the price for early purchasers has only increased 11%.

The 30% price increase between the first phases of the sale and April 30th is significantly less than the increase in some of our other pass products. The Adult pass, for example, is going up 60% between the first and third phases. The nice thing about our family pass program is that the price freezes at the second tier and doesn’t continue to rise as the season gets closer. (In contrast, Bogus Basin’s family pass price last season was $1196 on May 1, but continued to rise up to $1716 by December.)

The fact is, there is no consistent industry standard on season passes. Many resorts don’t offer an ‘early season sale’ at all. Many resorts don’t offer a family pass, just individual passes.

We do try to offer our families a great value and that is a big part of the reason why we waited 10 years before raising the prices. We hope our loyal visitors will understand.

Thanks again for taking the time to write in with your question – I hope this information is helpful to you.

  4. Steve says

I turn 70 on April 16th. I would like to purchase a senior pass now. Will Brundage permit me purchase the pass at the lowest rate now?

    • April says

      Hi Steve –
Excellent question. Yes, you can purchase the pass now at the lowest rate. We just make you wait to ‘pick it up’ until you turn 70. In your case, that will happen before the 14-15 Winter Season begins, so if you make your purchase now, we will mail your pass to you next November along with everyone else. You would not, however, be able to add on the Spring ’14 pass for the rest of this season because you are still 69. Do you have a current pass or were you planning to buy the spring add-on?

      • Steve says

I had planned to buy a pass for the rest of the current season since I didn’t purchase a season pass for 2014-14 season. What would cost me for the add on of a pass for the rest of this season? I am a first timer at skiing Brundage.

          Hi Steve –
I would recommend giving our Guest Service agents a call at 208-634-4151 ext. 124. They can talk you through all the options and make sure you get the very best deal possible for your age group and pass history, etc.
